If you were stranded on a deserted island, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without?

Given my experience from watching Naked & Afraid – it appears Duct Tape might be the answer.  I could craft a communications network or a catamaran to get home.  Definitely not a Volley Ball named Wilson!  Since my desert island would have wifi and unlimited power – a laptop would be nice until my rescue arrives.


You won the lottery! What’s your first purchase?


I am pretty happy with my life and probably would not go with a lavish upgrade (right away – though I am sure massive amounts of money would change me!).  Initially, I would probably do some foreign vacation – cruise Italy & Greece.

What is one of your guilty pleasures?


I have already copped to my Reality TV jones so I won’t rehash my feelings about Stassi or Juan Carlos.  I would have to say I am a bit obsessed with all things Portland Trail Blazer related.  Loved their over achieving – won’t quit – good guy performance last season – but continue to watch sites to see what off season moves they might entertain as well.  I know it’s over the top but in my defense, I am not overbearing regarding the NFL – MLS or MLB.


What does success look like to you?

Like most, I do consider financial well-being as a measure of success and have not fully achieved my goals in that area – I guess it’s good to continue to strive to improve.  However, I do believe that life’s ‘journey’ is as important as achieving your goal.  On that note, I was fortunate to have found the insurance industry some 38 years ago and have continued to enjoy my growth and the relationships that I have developed within the Biggs community – employees, underwriters and my Clients.

I appreciate that insurance is not generally go to conversation, but it is truly fulfilling when a distraught client calls and I can assure them they have the coverage and I can be involved in working with them to get the million dollar settlement to keep them going or expedite the water damage repairs before the party of 300 show up at their door.  Clearly, putting together deals is enjoyable – improving a client’s coverage while saving them money – but the payoff is when the need arises and you are able to see the carrier respond above and beyond the insured expectations.  To that end I have had more than my share of success.
