Every month we like to introduce one of our staff members so you can get to know them better. This month we spoke to Chastain, an Account Manager in Personal Lines – she told us about her winter crafting endeavors, her kids’ first time swimming in an ocean that wasn’t freezing cold, and her first job at Old Country Buffet.

You won the lottery! What’s your first purchase?

  • I always have tons of different thoughts and ideas if I ever did win the lottery on exactly how that would go! If it was ultimately up to me, my first purchase would be one of my few dream classic cars, which is a 1970 Bronco – vista orange with a black trim hard top. Of course, realistically it would be paying off debt and helping family out; then we can move to the fun stuff. 😉

Share one thing you love to do that you always strive to include in your daily routine.

Every day when I wake up in the morning, I am thankful for that. Always try to remind myself to live in the moment, because time goes by fast and you don’t know when that time will be taken. Enjoy every moment you can!

What are some of your favorite hobbies or activities?

Depending on the time of year, I enjoy different activities and hobbies. During the long winter months into the holidays, I enjoy crafts on my downtime. Although I would say it’s not my biggest strength, it just brings me relaxation. My crafts are not always successful/true to what I was envisioning it should look like, but it keeps me busy. When summer has finally arrived, I enjoy paddle boarding and being at the river with the family, and weekend trips to the coast.

Tell us about one of your most memorable experiences.

I have a lot of memorable moments, but for some reason this one always sticks with me. One of my most memorable memories was during my kids’ first trip to Florida. They are mostly familiar with the nice cold oceans that we have here in the NW. The expressions and joy that I saw on their faces was hysterical as they experienced how warm the Gulf of Mexico water is. I was asked the question if warm bath water was draining into the ocean. They were in shock that ocean water could be that warm.

What is your favorite Biggs story?

A few months back we had a fundraiser walk for the Humane Society, and it was a great day with the Biggs coworkers and getting to see everyone’s dogs joining in on the fun!

What does success look like to you?

Success to me is happiness, being comfortable with your settings around you, and building a healthy foundation for yourself and those around you.

What was your first job?

Honestly I could not wait to make money when I was a teen, so before I was the legal age to work, I would clean houses and babysit. My first official job was at Old Country Buffet working as a cashier and the best thing was that you were provided a free meal on the days you worked – HELLO desert station.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

The special power I would choose is, I think, is a commonly-picked one: teleporting. How cool would it be just to be at any destination at any time for any reason? If I did have teleporting abilities during the wintertime, I would be clocking in at 5pm after work on a tropical island getting a nice tan! Well I don’t really tan, but I can dream.
